Energy Utilities

Membership in the UtiliSite Council is now open to ALL UTILITIES. Each member of the UtiliSite Council is entitled to appoint one representative and one alternate to the UtiliSite Board of Directors.

UtiliSite Council Benefits-at-a-Glance:

If your utility has or is thinking of developing a co-location line of business, joining will provide you with these benefits:

  • A Highly Competitive Network of Carrier Services. By joining with other similar utilities, you are becoming part of a network of organizations whose collective resources offer commercial wireless carriers a compelling business opportunity, which will also help you to achieve higher profits.
  • Increased Sales. UtiliSite Council marketing efforts will help grow your business. Just one new site from one customer more than covers the annual dues. Your utility’s resources and contact information will also be showcased on the new UtiliSite web page.
  • Reduced Operating Expenses. Best-Practices studies will highlight ways others are saving money. UtiliSite Council members will design best-practices studies to meet unique needs of utilities in this business.
  • Regulatory Assistance. In addition to monitoring of federal and state regulations impacting business, support will be available to help with local government issues.
  • Fast Access to the Peer Network. UtiliSite Council members and UTC staff form the nucleus of a rapid, self-help networking group.
  • New Technology Updates. The UtiliSite Council will share information on and evaluations of new technologies.

What does the UtiliSite Council have planned?

Some of UtiliSite Council’s pending projects include:

  • Annual Wireless Business Opportunities Symposium as a part of UTC’s Annual Conference.
  • Regular Wireless Business Opportunities webinars, available to members and non-members through the web.
  • Development of a series of Construction Best Practices and Business Operations Best Practices documents, to help members fine-tune their internal processes.
  • Focusing our efforts on federal, state and local regulations impacting the utility’s ability to offer top-quality services to wireless carriers.
